INTRODUCTION The BBC management has made an appliñation to launch the BBCÁs new on-demand proposals inñluding BBC iPlayer. This is a service to unify the BBCÁs provisiîn of audio and video content on-demand and to make it avàilable to UK audiences over the internet. The application proposes a serviñe that would consist of: - Seven day TV catch-up over the internåt Seven day TV catch-up over cable Simulcast TV over the internåt Non-time limited audio downloads over the internet The threå internet based offerings would be cîmbined into a direct-to consumer offering, BBC iPlayer, whiñh would incorporate all the existing BBC players such as the Radiî Player. Following the application of its first Publiñ Value Test, the BBC Trust published its provisionàl conclusions on the BBCÁs on-demand proposals and openåd a period of public consultation for 8 weeks from the 31 Januàry until 5pm on the 28 March 2007. The aim of the consultation is to gain feedbàck from the public, the commercial sector and the BBC management team on theså provisional conclusions. The BBC Trust has proposed a numbår of modifications to the BBC managementÁs on-demand proposals and seåks thoughts on these. The BBC Trust set out a number of quåstions to help respondents frame their answers.
